The representatives of the 20th World Petroleum Congress (20WPC), which will be held in Qatar in December, recently hosted a briefing and reception on the sidelines of the Offshore Technology Conference 2011 (OTC) in Houston, Texas. Speakers at the briefing included 20WPC Organising Committee chairman Issa al-Ghanim (second right), project director Reda Ali, World Petroleum Council president Dr Randy Gossen and director general Dr Pierce Riemer. Al-Ghanim said, “We are very proud to be part of OTC 2011, which is one of the most important energy trade shows in the world. This reception has been very successful in presenting the latest 20WPC updates. Many attendees have expressed interest in attending the 20WPC and we look forward to welcoming them to Doha in December.” Members of the 20WPC organising committee were also present at the Qatar Petroleum stand at the exhibition held on the sidelines of the OTC. Qatar’s consul in Houston Yousif al-Khater was among those who visited the exhibition. The 20th World Petroleum Congress is hosted by Qatar Petroleum and will take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha from December 4 to 8. Since establishment in 1933, this is the first time that the World Petroleum Congress will be hosted in the Middle East.
