Supporters of Sri Lanka’s main Marxist party JVP, or People’s Liberation Front, stage a protest in Colombo yesterday against the government’s failure to arrest those responsible for an armed attack against a party meeting. Two people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a JVP meeting in the south of the country on June 15, and the party has accused gang members linked to the government of carrying out the attack.
