Afghan female students leave a school in Kabul where war and internal conflicts have destroyed or severely damaged most aspects of life, especially infrastructure and environment. The Afghanistan Ministry of Education’s plan for 2010 to 2015 is to increase the net enrolment in basic education for boys and girls from 65% and 40%, to 75% to 60% respectively. They are hoping 10mn children, 42% girls, will be enrolled in general schools including children with special needs.
