Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) will help bring discussions on strategic leadership, institutional development and national talent to a wider audience through its first media partnership with the Qatar Leadership Centre’s (QLC) Leadership Innovation Forum.
The partnership was announced at a press conference for the forum’s third edition, organised under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Chairperson of QLC.
Ali Issa Rashid of QMC described the collaboration as an important step in supporting initiatives that contribute to Qatar’s institutional development.
“What we witnessed today, through the announcement that Qatar Media Corporation will be the media partner for this forum, is certainly a significant step,” he said, noting that this was the first time QMC had served as media sponsor of the forum.
Rashid said the corporation remained committed to supporting events connected with state institutions, with backing from its leadership, including His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer al-Thani and chief executive officer His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Thani.
The partnership aims to communicate the forum’s ideas, proposals and strategies beyond the conference, reaching different segments of the public.
“The corporation is consistently committed to reaching every segment of the public to communicate the ideas and opinions that will be presented at the forum,” Rashid said.
He added that QMC’s network of television and radio organisations, along with co-operation with newspapers and the Qatar News Agency, would help amplify initiatives that support the development of Qatari citizens and employees.
Rashid also praised the Qatar Leadership Centre’s work since its establishment in 2008, highlighting its role in developing Qatari talent serving across government institutions and the private sector.
The forum will be held under the theme “Strategy Before Execution: Building Institutions That Endure Beyond Their Leaders”. It will examine how organisations can preserve their achievements and remain effective beyond leadership changes.
Professor Stephen Wright, Director of the Leadership Knowledge Base at the Qatar Leadership Centre, said the forum would explore what leaders leave behind and whether the institutions they build can keep succeeding after they leave.
Discussions will draw on Qatar’s experience in education, infrastructure and oil and gas, examining strategic decisions and institutional practices that support long-term development. The programme will also include strategic leadership workshops for the centre’s alumni.
Rashid said the partnership would help the forum communicate its outcomes to a broader audience, reinforcing the media’s role in sharing knowledge and highlighting initiatives that support Qatar’s development.
“The corporation has always been committed to supporting such initiatives,” he said.
