MVP Physiotherapy is officially opening its new centre in Doha, located within Virgin Active at Msheireb Downtown Doha, bringing a performance-led approach to physiotherapy, rehabilitation, recovery and long-term physical wellbeing.
MVP has been created around a simple philosophy: to bring the standards, expertise and attention traditionally associated with elite professional sport to a wider community.
The project brings together Dermot Simpson, an experienced physiotherapist who has spent many years working alongside top-level professional footballers and athletes, and former professional footballer Adlène Guedioura, whose career at the highest level of the game gives MVP a unique understanding of the physical demands placed on athletes — from injury and rehabilitation to recovery, performance and career longevity.
BUILT FROM ELITE SPORT
Throughout his career, Dermot Simpson has worked closely with professional players, developing extensive experience in injury management, rehabilitation, recovery and performance.
His approach goes beyond treating an injury. It focuses on understanding the individual, identifying the underlying causes of physical issues and building a pathway that allows patients to recover properly, move better and perform sustainably.
For Adlène Guedioura, the philosophy behind MVP comes from experiencing this process from the other side — as a professional athlete.
Across a long international and club career, Adlène Guedioura experienced first-hand how important the relationship between athlete and physiotherapist can be, not only when recovering from injury, but also in maintaining performance and extending a career.
Together, Dermot Simpson and Adlène Guedioura want to make that level of care and understanding accessible beyond professional sport.
A NATURAL HOME AT VIRGIN ACTIVE
MVP's location within Virgin Active Doha provides an environment designed around performance, recovery and wellbeing.
Located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, Virgin Active's first Middle East club combines world-class training facilities with dedicated recovery and wellness spaces, creating a natural environment for MVP's approach to physiotherapy and long-term physical health.
MVP patients will benefit from being treated within a wider ecosystem where physiotherapy, movement, strength, recovery and wellness can work together rather than in isolation.
CONFIDENCE IN QATAR
The opening of MVP represents a long-term commitment to Qatar and its continued development as a destination for sport, health, wellness and high-performance expertise.
The founders believe Qatar's investment in world-class infrastructure, sport and quality of life provides the right environment for a new generation of health and performance services.
Opening MVP in Doha is therefore not simply about establishing a physiotherapy centre. It represents confidence in the country's long-term direction and in the growing demand for personalised, high-quality health, recovery and longevity services.
ADLÈNE GUEDIOURA
“During my career, I understood how important the right physiotherapist can be. It isn't only about coming back from an injury. It's about understanding your body, staying available, performing and ultimately extending your career.
With MVP, we want people to have access to the same level of attention and expertise that professional athletes receive. Qatar felt like the right place to build that vision.”
DERMOT SIMPSON
“Every person is different. Our objective is to understand the individual first and then build the right pathway around them.
We want MVP to be a place where people come not only because something hurts, but because they want to move better, recover better and look after their bodies for the long term.”
LOOKING BEYOND DOHA
The Doha centre represents the beginning of a broader vision for MVP.
Dermot Simpson and Adlène Guedioura intend to develop the MVP model around a combination of physiotherapy, rehabilitation, performance and longevity, with the ambition to expand the brand into additional locations and markets in the future.
The focus, however, begins in Doha: establishing a trusted centre built around expertise, personalised care and the standards expected at the highest levels of professional sport.
The MVP Physiotherapy Private Opening will take place on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at Virgin Active, Msheireb Downtown Doha, bringing together figures from sport, business, healthcare and the wider Qatar community.
