Khalid Abdulaziz al-Eid won the Diamond Tour as the first round of the 10th season of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour concluded yesterday at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s indoor arena.

Riding Rakar, al-Eid clocked 42.44 seconds to take the top spot in the 150cm class. Abdulaziz Fahad al-Eid finished second in 41.73 seconds on Q-Hayen.

Ali bin Yousef al-Rumaihi, Vice Chairman of the Championship Organising Committee, presented the awards.

In the Bronze Tour (120cm), Abdulaziz Saud al-Fakhroo won the individual competition in 32.02 seconds on Valo. Abdulrahman Hamad Jumaa was second in 32.66 seconds on Duros, while Suhaim Hamad al-Yafei finished third in 32.67 seconds on Flash.

Team Al Shaqab won the team competition with a combined time of 64.43 seconds, ahead of Doha Stars (70.18) and Ajwad (73.07). The winners were awarded by Khajeem Faraj al-Athba, Head of the Veterinary and Farrier Section at the Qatar Equestrian Federation.

In the Future Riders class (90cm), Saud Abdullah al-Muhannadi took first place in 28.95 seconds on Beyonce. Salman Faisal al-Marri finished second in 30.97 seconds on Gravity, while Yousef Muhanna al-Nuaimi was third in 31.3 seconds on Charming Boy. Mohammed Saleh al-Marri, Head of the Championship’s Facilities and Logistics Committee, presented the awards.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Ahmed bin Noah al-Thani, Secretary-General of the Qatar Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Federation and Chairman of the Organising Committee, said the opening round reflected the high technical and competitive standards reached by the Longines Hathab Championship.

He highlighted the strong participation and close competition across the categories, saying the first round provided riders with an important opportunity to gain experience, assess their readiness and prepare for the rounds ahead.
