The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs's Department of Islamic Research and Studies has published three scholarly volumes documenting research presented at the inaugural Qur'an and Human Knowledge conference.

Awqaf organised the event in co-ordination with Qatar University’s Ibn Khaldon Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences, presenting 16 peer-reviewed research papers spotlighting the impact of the Holy Qur'an on building people, enriching knowledge and providing civilisational guidance.

The director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies, Sheikh Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanim al-Thani, said that the publication is an outgrowth of the department's mission to serve Qur'anic studies and support scholarly projects that connect human knowledge with the purposes of revelation, regarding it as a renewed source of knowledge and an approach to reform and development.

The papers addressed a wide spectrum of intellectual, socioeconomic and mental health issues, across the gamut from societal reform, human behaviour and outreach to mental health, as well as economic, justice and sustainable development topics.

Among the foremost subjects covered in the volumes are the theoretical foundations for social reform, the theory of meaning-centered therapy in Qur'anic discourse, mental healthcare, psychological first aid and the psychology of ego inflation, along with studies addressing the Qur'anic perspective on a just monetary system and rational economic behaviour to build a sustainable economy.

Overall, the publication underscores Awqaf's commitment to enhancing Sharia scholarship and promoting the Holy Qur'an's role in addressing contemporary issues, in alignment with the pillars of human development and knowledge under Qatar National Vision 2030.
