Thirty six Olympic spots on offer at Doha ISSF World Championship
Doha will host the ISSF World Championship Doha 2026 at the Lusail Shooting Complex from November 1 to 14, with the world’s leading shooters competing for 36 direct qualification places for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The championship will feature competitions in skeet, trap, rifle and pistol, with Qatar’s shooters aiming to make the most of home advantage and secure Olympic qualification places.
Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation Secretary General Jassim Shaheen al-Sulaiti said the Lusail Shooting Complex is fully prepared to host the global event and provide an ideal competitive environment.
"We look forward to the home advantage and the crowd being an exceptional incentive for our national team shooters to deliver their best performances and secure qualification,” Al-Sulaiti told QNA.
He said Qatar’s hosting of the championship reflects the confidence placed in the country’s ability to organise major international events, adding that intensive training plans and camps have been put in place for the national team.
The championship is expected to attract an elite field of male and female shooters, with the Lusail Shooting Complex equipped to meet international standards for the two-week competition.
