Qatar has strongly condemned renewed Iranian attacks on Kuwait, describing them as a flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a blatant breach of international law, the UN Charter and the principles of good neighbourliness.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the continuing attacks represented a dangerous escalation that would complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic efforts to achieve regional security and stability. It held Iran legally responsible for the attacks and their repercussions.
The ministry reiterated Qatar’s full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures taken to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and security.
It called for an immediate and comprehensive halt to all military operations and attacks threatening regional security and stability, restraint from actions that could widen the cycle of escalation, a return to dialogue and negotiations, and adherence to understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
