The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) ia participating in the two-day conference entitled, 'Family Challenges Amidst Major Transformations: A Fatwa-Based Approach to Protecting the Family, Envisioning its Future, and Preserving Identity' in Cairo, organized by the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide.

DICID's participation reflects the constant and active presence of the State of Qatar in international forums and conferences, especially those concerned with discussing the issues of the Islamic world in the current era, the most important of which are the challenges facing the Muslim family, in light of what the world is witnessing in terms of the impact of globalization and the information and technological revolution.
The participation also comes within the framework of DICID’s keenness to contribute to all issues concerning the Islamic world, and to cooperate with official institutions in all Islamic countries.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Chairman of the Board at DICID Dr. Al Naimi pointed to the major and successive challenges facing the family in today’s world and its changes, which affect and represent a serious threat to its structure, system and cohesion, whether in terms of values or the family identity itself.
He stated that all these challenges call upon international civil institutions and organizations to participate intellectually and from a standpoint of responsibility, with cultural, academic and religious institutions, especially bodies and institutions of Islamic fatwas in the world, to attentively search for ways to preserve the cohesion of the family value system, especially the Muslim family, based on adherence to Sharia and the values of the true Islamic religion.
Dr. Al Naimi considered the conference an extension and integration of joint Arab and Islamic work to instill the principles of preserving the family and enabling it to perform its role as defined by religion and the Sharia. He pointed out that the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue addressed the same issue, which focused on the Family Structure in Light of Changing World as its main topic, with the theme being "Integration of families, faith, values, and education."
He pointed out that most societies in the modern world have become pluralistic, with diverse cultures and religions, which necessitates taking advantage of interfaith dialogue to promote family values in order to protect the family system, which is in reality an innate system known to human society since the time of Adam (PBUH).
The conference aims to monitor and analyze contemporary family challenges in the context of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and to build an integrated fatwa approach to protect the family, anticipate its future, and preserve its identity by reading the major transformations that the world is witnessing, and strengthening the system of belonging, coexistence, and solidarity. This contributes to building a balanced individual capable of positive interaction with his surroundings, while at the same time preserving the foundations and stability of the family.
It also discusses the issue of digital separation and the related transformations in the nature of human relationships, in light of the increasing influence of technology and digital spaces, as well as the topic of social, cultural, economic and technological transformations affecting the family, and their repercussions on family stability, marital relationships and child rearing.
The conference is attended by a large number of Muslim scholars and representatives of fatwa institutions and bodies in the Islamic world, as well as some international government figures, ambassadors, academics, and researchers specializing in Islamic law around the world. This reflects its importance as an international platform for dialogue on the future of the family, and for strengthening the role of fatwas in dealing with issues and transformations that affect the lives and stability of societies.
