The local fresh date sales events held at several shopping malls concluded after running from July 30 to August 15, with 24 local farms participating.
A total of 11,731kgs of fresh dates were sold during the campaign. Festival City Mall recorded the highest sales at 4,614 kilograms, followed by Landmark Mall with 3,810kgs and Villaggio Mall with 3,307kgs. The figures highlight strong consumer demand for locally produced agricultural goods, as well as the quality and variety of Qatar’s domestic produce.
Sales of locally grown fruits also reached 1,161 kilograms during the campaign. Festival City Mall accounted for 601 kilograms, while Landmark Mall recorded 436kgs and Villaggio Mall 124kgs.
The events form part of the Ministry of Municipality’s efforts to support local farms, expand marketing outlets for domestic agricultural products and provide consumers with wider access to locally produced fresh produce.
The initiative also contributes to strengthening the position of local agricultural products in the domestic market and creating additional opportunities for farmers to reach consumers directly.
