The Qatar paramotor team is preparing to compete in the 12th Polish Open Paramotor Slalom Championships, starting from today until August 22, in Jutrosin, Poland.
The event hosts 31 pilots representing Qatar, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland and the United States.
Qatar will be represented by Naif Yousuf al-Baloshi in the foot-launched class, Hayan al-Hebabi and Ibrahem Ahmed Hussain in the trike class, and Saeed Hamad al-Marri in the foot-launched Serial class.
The championships are among the leading international competitions in paramotor slalom, featuring a number of pilots from various countries, while the Qatar team aspires to achieve phenomenal results and continue their string of achievements at international and regional championships.
The paramotor team, affiliated with the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces, have finalised their preparations for the competition through a training camp held in Poland, before the Qatar delegation arrived in Jutrosin to prepare for the championships.
The team comprises 14 pilots and specialises in performing static and dynamic aerial formations using paramotor engines and paraglider wings, forming one of the components of the Qatar parachuting team.
The Qatar team currently tops the latest world ranking in the foot-launched class and also achieved outstanding results at the latest World Championship, held in October 2025, finishing first in the individual trike competition, first in the Racing Team competition, and second overall in the world.
In addition, the team also previously topped the world rankings in the trike and foot-launched classes in 2022, according to the rankings of the World Air Sports Federation (FAI).
Saeed Abdullah al-Marri, captain of the paramotor team, said the team aims to compete for the top spots and achieve another milestone to add to Qatar’s record in air sports.
He added that the team is entering the competition with doggedness and a challenge to win gold and hoist the Qatari flag on the podium, adding that these ambitions come amid the support the team receive, alongside the players’ determination to continue their achievements.
Al-Marri noted that the team achieved incredible results in their previous appearances and that the current tournaments represent a new challenge. – QNA
