The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched its “Back to School 2026-27” campaign, bringing together interactive activities and dedicated booths for students and families, alongside professional training workshops designed to prepare teachers, school leaders and the wider education community for the new academic year.
A key feature of this year’s campaign is the “First Step” initiative, which the ministry is launching for the first time in partnership with Rafeeq.
The initiative is designed to support students as they begin their educational journey and will target approximately 10,700 newly enrolled Grade 1 students across Qatar’s government schools.
As part of its educational and professional preparations for the new academic year, the ministry will hold its Annual Educational Forum on August 25 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The event will bring together educational leaders, teachers, and partners to prepare for the start of the academic year, strengthen communication, and facilitate the exchange of expertise on key educational priorities and directions.
The forum will feature more than 15 training workshops, in addition to a panel discussion on “People First... Authenticity is Strength... Digitalisation is Empowerment”.
The session will address issues shaping the future of education, including the importance of keeping people at the centre of the educational process, strengthening identity, values, and authenticity within the educational environment, and leveraging digital transformation and modern technologies to empower teachers and learners and enhance the overall educational experience.
The campaign will also feature a series of community activities aimed at engaging families and children.
The MoEHE is renewing its partnership with Mowasalat (Karwa) through a dedicated pavilion at Place Vendôme from August 21-27, operating from 4pm to 10pm.
The pavilion will offer a range of interactive, educational and entertainment activities for children and families, along with shows and activities presented on the pavilion stage.
The programme is intended to combine learning and entertainment while providing families with an opportunity to engage directly with the ministry.
The MoEHE is also participating as a strategic partner in Al Meera’s “Back to School” campaign, which will be held at several Al Meera branches from August 15 to September 15.
The partnership is expected to broaden the campaign’s reach among students and families during the preparation period for the new academic year.
In addition, the ministry will hold activities at Msheireb from August 25-27, from 4pm to 9pm.
The programme will include educational, entertaining, and interactive activities for children and families, providing opportunities for direct engagement with the community and combining educational value with the recreational atmosphere of the back-to-school season.
Through the “Back to School 2026-27” campaign, the MoEHE aims to provide a comprehensive launch of the new academic year by strengthening shared responsibility for education, promoting a culture of partnership, and creating an engaging and motivating start for students, teachers, families, and the wider educational community.
