General Authority of Customs officials at Doha Port and the Northern Ports have foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,650kg of tobacco (tambaku) and 22,005 packs of cigarettes into the country.
The smuggled items were concealed in underground compartments within a marine transport vessel, reportedly intended to evade customs duties.The seizure constitutes a violation of Qatar’s applicable customs laws and regulations.
