Qatar Chamber has held talks with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce on expanding trade and investment cooperation between Qatar and Brazil, with a particular focus on strengthening private sector partnerships.
The discussions, held in Doha on Tuesday, explored ways to boost bilateral trade and increase mutual investments across a range of sectors, particularly food security and the food industries.
Qatar Chamber board member Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly met a delegation from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce that included its Vice-President for International Relations, Mohammed Mourad, and Director and Head of the International Office, Rafael Solimeo.
The two sides discussed developing a roadmap to deepen economic cooperation and encourage greater collaboration between businesses in both countries.
During the meeting, Al Obaidly also received an official invitation addressed to HE Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani to participate as a keynote speaker at the fifth Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum. The event is due to take place in Sao Paulo on August 25, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers and under the patronage of the League of Arab States.
Al Obaidly said Qatar and Brazil enjoyed strong bilateral relations and reaffirmed Qatar Chamber's commitment to promoting joint ventures and strategic partnerships between Qatari and Brazilian companies to expand trade.
Mourad said this year's forum would be held under the theme, "The Global Economy in Transition - A New Agenda Between Brazil and the Arab Countries". He invited Qatar Chamber to take part, saying the event aims to strengthen economic ties and foster closer cooperation between private sector organizations across the two regions.
