Since early childhood, twin sisters, Taif Nasser and Nouf al-Malki have been part of the community at Qatar Academy Sidra, part of Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Pre-University Education.
Growing up together within the same learning environment, the sisters say their school experience not only supported their academic growth but also helped shape their personalities, nurture their passions, and prepare them for the future with confidence and ambition.
Today, as they prepare to graduate from Qatar Academy Sidra (QAS) and begin university life, the sisters describe the moment as a mix of pride, excitement and gratitude.
Nouf says: “I feel that graduation is a major milestone in my life because I have been at QAS since kindergarten, so the school truly felt like my second home. This is where I grew up, learned, and created some of my most beautiful memories with my friends and teachers.”
Meanwhile, her sister, Taif, describes graduation as the beginning of a new chapter filled with excitement and responsibility, saying: “I feel proud that we reached this stage after many years of hard work and experiences that shaped us. I feel ready now to begin a new and more independent journey at university.”
Despite their close bond as twins, the sisters chose from an early age to pursue their academic journeys independently by studying in separate classes, a decision they say helped each of them better discover her own identity.
“Having my sister with me all the time was always comforting, but being independent helped me face challenges in my own way, learn how to rely on myself, and build my own personality,” Taif says.
“At QAS, we learned not to stay within our comfort zones, but to try new things and go through different experiences. The school always encouraged us to explore our interests and develop them,” Nouf adds.
For Nouf, art became an important part of her journey after her teachers encouraged her to participate in competitions and creative activities. She explains: “They always believed in my abilities, and that encouraged me to try new things and have confidence in myself.”
Taif, meanwhile, says one of the most valuable aspects of her experience at Qatar Foundation (QF) was being exposed to different cultures and perspectives. She says: “I learned the importance of communication and teamwork, and how to listen to different perspectives and understand others, and these are among the most important things I will carry with me into the future.”
Today, the twins are preparing to study Mechanical Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, a member of QF, after receiving multiple university offers and acceptances. This step reflects both their ambition and their desire to continue their educational journey within the QF ecosystem.
