His Excellency Vice Chairman of the Board of the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at the Qatar Chamber Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al-Thani emphasised the State of Qatar's strong focus on developing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
In his remarks at the ceremony of the "Accelerated Track Qualifying for Membership” program, organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Qatar Branch, he pointed out that this commitment is reflected in modern legislation, including the Arbitration Law and the Mediation Law, which enhance the country’s legal and investment environment.
His Excellency also urged trainees to continue their professional development and keep pace with global advancements in arbitration, stressing the importance of preparing qualified national talent aligned with international best practices.
HE Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al-Thani praised the role of specialised training programs in strengthening legal expertise and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading regional hub for arbitration and dispute resolution.
QICCA seeks to enhance cooperation with the CIArb and develop expertise in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
The center signed a cooperation agreement with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) on the sidelines of the annual conference of the QICCA, held in November 2024, aimed to spread the culture of arbitration and alternative means of dispute resolution within the State of Qatar, and to enhance legal and professional awareness in this vital field.
