The European Commission (EU) proposed on Wednesday a series of measures to address the repercussions of West Asia crisis on energy markets in European Union countries.The Commission said these measures include improving the distribution of aircraft fuel among bloc member states to avoid shortages.European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the choices made today will shape the EU's ability to confront current challenges and future crises. She added that the strategy would include both immediate and structural measures aimed at easing pressure on citizens and businesses in Europe.She also said that the EU must accelerate the transition toward local and clean energy sources. According to her, this would strengthen energy independence and security in the energy sector and help the bloc withstand geopolitical shocks.
