The 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition 2026 concluded at Lusail Hall in Doha yesterday.
The three-day tournament was organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth (MSY), represented by the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), and was supported by the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam).
Participating in this event were more than 2,500 students of both genders from 250 schools, who showcased overwhelming contests across various robotics competitions.
Young students from schools and universities demonstrated a combination of science, robotics technology, and assiduous training, filled with challenge and doggedness, to secure the most coveted advanced positions.
Arab Association for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence president Ismail Yasin Hassan stressed the importance of wielding science and cutting-edge technologies.
He unveiled a high standard of work and a role model of organisation, emphasising that such contests are significant for students both scientifically and practically.
The director for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the QSC, Fatima al-Mohannadi, stated that the collaboration between the ministry and numerous other relevant entities, such as MoEHE, the Arab Robotics & AI
Association, Google, and Al Arabi Sports Club, has had a positive and profound impact on the success of this tournament, making it a domestic event with global specifications.
She extended her gratitude to all operating committees, volunteers, and student teams, alongside their supervisors and referees.
Al-Mohannadi emphasised that since its inception, this championship has significantly contributed to building the character and self-confidence of students who demonstrate strong proclivities toward robotics technology through constant training and motivational programmes.
Students are those who build the future, she said, and it behooves all scientific and educational leaders to exert every effort to help cultivate a generation capable of achieving ambitions.
Al-Mohannadi underlined that the key objective entails the accomplishment of Qatar National Vision 2030, which primarily prioritises human development.
Upon wrapping up the event, a video was screened showcasing a synopsis of the tournament, presenting the 15 contests and the great care that accompanied them.
