His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani patronised the 19th Qatar Education Excellence Award ceremony held last morning at the Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel, celebrating the nation’s outstanding achievers across all levels of learning and research.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, His Excellency Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, senior state officials, teachers, and parents of the awardees.
HH the Amir honoured 108 winners, including holders of doctoral and master’s degrees, university and secondary school graduates, and exceptional students at the preparatory and primary levels. The award also recognised distinguished teachers, outstanding schools, and remarkable scientific research projects, reflecting the State’s commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
A documentary screened during the event highlighted the award’s legacy and this year’s honourees, showcasing the diversity of talent driving Qatar’s education and research landscape. The programme also featured a speech by Her Excellency Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid al-Khater and remarks delivered on behalf of the honourees by student Fatima Saad al-Mohannadi.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, HH the Amir met with the award recipients, commending their achievements and describing them as “an outstanding group of national talents.” His Highness praised their efforts as a reflection of the country’s spirit of ambition and dedication, emphasising that investment in education and scientific research remains a strategic pillar in building a knowledge-based economy.
HH the Amir urged the honourees to continue striving for excellence and to contribute meaningfully to Qatar’s ongoing development. The recipients expressed their gratitude to His Highness, affirming that the recognition would inspire them to further innovation and national service.
