His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, conducted an inspection visit to a number of rawdas (meadows) within Al Reem Reserve, including Rawdat Al Nu’man, Al Hamm, Al Haim, and the Umm Al Maa area, in addition to Ashirij Reserve. The visit came as part of efforts to monitor the condition of the rawdas and assess their environmental status.
During the tour, the minister reviewed the level of vegetation growth in the rawdas and its response to the rainfall season. He also followed up on environmental rehabilitation work and the efforts to preserve soil and wild plants.
The minister listened to briefings by specialists on the measures in place to protect the rawdas, as well as environmental awareness programmes aimed at ensuring their sustainability and safeguarding their biodiversity.
During the visit, HE al-Subaie directed that field patrols at these sites be intensified to monitor compliance with approved environmental regulations, particularly on weekends, to curb environmental violations and protect rawdas and nature reserves.
