The World Bank has approved USD 200 million in funding to implement a project aimed at strengthening the social safety net and building systems in Lebanon.
A statement issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs indicated that this funding reflects the Lebanese government's commitment to protecting the poorest and most vulnerable groups, enhancing the sustainability of the national social protection system, and supporting the economic inclusion of women, youth, and the most needy groups, given the delicate economic and social conditions Lebanon is experiencing.
