The General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia has elected HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani as President of the Council, during its meeting held on Monday in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
Sheikh Joaan was elected by acclamation after standing as the sole candidate for the position, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Asian Olympic Movement.
