Qatar Charity has inaugurated the "Amina Centre for Quran Memorisation" in the Kahda area of the Banadir region, the 10th centre, Qatar Charity has built in 2025.
The centre consists of three classrooms and a fully equipped administrative office. The building has been equipped with all essential facilities required to operate Quran memorisation sessions, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for both male and female students.
Qatar Charity is committed to teaching Holy Quran as part of its development projects in the fields of education and culture. This includes building, equipping, and operating centres for teaching and memorising Holy Quran.
Qatar Charity also focuses on this aspect through its "Furqan" project, implemented by its "Rofaqa" initiative in several countries. This initiative targets orphans sponsored by the "Rofaqa" programme, particularly in non-Arabic speaking countries. The project focuses on teaching them the Arabic language and improving their skills to better understand the Quran, learn the correct way to read and memorise it and instill and reinforce Islamic values.
Saadia Ibrahim Abdi, spokesperson for the Al-Bashair Centre for Quran Memorisation, emphasised that the project "represents added value to Quranic education and opens new doors for our sons and daughters to memorise the Book of Allah in a safe and nurturing educational environment."
Sheikh Abubakr Ali Jabu, representative of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, said: "Such projects are a fundamental pillar in spreading moderation and consolidating Quranic values. We appreciate all efforts that serve the Holy Quran and provide a sound educational environment for our children."
Meanwhile, Abdul Razzaq Muhammad Sheikh Abdullah, the official in charge of Kahda, affirmed that the project represents "an important addition to educational services in the area and contributes to developing the capabilities of young people and promoting Islamic education in the community."
He added that the area looks forward to more developmental and educational projects that will elevate it and meet the needs of its residents.
