The Katara Cultural Village Foundation announced the organizing of the first edition of the World Arabian Horse Championship, the "Champions Tour 2025,” which will be held on Friday and Saturday
Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director General of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation and Chairman of the Championship's Organizing Committee, said during a press conference held Thursday that Katara will host the championship events, with the participation of 70 horses from 10 countries.
These horses qualified through international rounds held in the Gulf, Europe, and the Americas. He noted that the total prize money is EUR 4.9 million, reflecting the scale and international prestige of the championship.
He explained that this event represents a significant milestone in the history of the Arabian Horse Tour, especially as it brings together the elite horses that have won top positions in international rounds, amidst a competition imbued with profound cultural and historical value related to the Arabian horse and its enduring role in the Arab consciousness.
For his part, Bader Mohammed Al Darwish, the tournament director, affirmed that this championship is the culmination of the elite of the elite with the highest titles in the world of equestrian sports. He said, "At every stage, we have witnessed serious challenges and fierce competition among the horses, and a shared passion among their fans and enthusiasts.
Over the next two days, we will experience a new chapter of challenge."
He noted that organizing this edition in Doha reflects the growing international confidence in the State of Qatar's ability to host the largest specialized championships for purebred Arabian horses.
He emphasized the organizing committee's commitment to providing the highest organizational and technical standards to ensure a competition befitting the elite horses participating and reflecting the value of this championship, which is now considered one of the most prominent global events in the field of Arabian horse beauty.
