Ramiz Alakbarov, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the Palestinian Territories, toured one of the Qatari aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip, accompanied by a UN delegation, on Saturday.
Alakbarov and the accompanying delegation were briefed on examples of the Qatari humanitarian aid that continues to be distributed to hundreds of thousands of affected families in the Gaza Strip, which includes food and health parcels and urgent relief materials.
Ramiz Alakbarov appreciated the efforts of the State of Qatar and its urgent humanitarian interventions to provide relief to the people of the Gaza Strip, praising the important role that Qatar plays in achieving peace and security in the region.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening humanitarian coordination between UN agencies and aid providers, and ensuring that support reaches the most vulnerable populations in the Gaza Strip in a timely and effective manner.
