MES Indian School marked Children’s Day, honouring the spirit of childhood and the legacy of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (Chachaji), the first Prime Minister of independent India. The school was filled with cheer as teachers and students came together to celebrate the occasion through a series of engaging, fun-filled activities. In the Boys’ Section the celebrations began with a special morning assembly, where Alric Manoj dressed as Chachaji, delivered a speech on the importance of childhood and education. Sandeep Painuly, Hindi Department teacher, also donned Nehru's iconic attire and shared inspiring words, capturing Nehru’s affection for children. Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar stated that the celebration was a reflection of the school’s deep-rooted commitment to nurturing young minds with love, creativity, and care. In the Girls’ Section, the celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony led by the principal, followed by fun games, lucky draws, and competitions such as puppet and paper flower making. Students dressed in Nehru-inspired outfits to honour his legacy. The highlight of the day included a dance performance by the teachers, and a soulful song rendered by Lila Noushad from the Social Science Department. The Junior Section teachers presented a cultural show, complete with skits, songs, and dances, conveying Pandit Nehru’s vision for children and their bright future. Kashi Kumar, Junior Section teacher, greeted the students in the role of Nehru. The entire campus was decked in festive decor, with classroom celebrations, sweets distribution, and bulletin board displays. The programme was organised by the event managers Hamza Rassia, Nazanin, staff secretary Sijila Das, Ayesha Samreen, Sreejith K N, Anu Manoj and Namitha Pradeep.
