An earthquake measuring 5 Magnitude on the Richter scale struck Tonga on Sunday.
The earthquake occurred 221 km east of Neiafu, at a depth of 10 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
Tonga, an archipelago of 176 islands in the South Pacific Ocean, is prone to seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
