The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) convened an Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting here as part of the preparations for the 27th GECF Ministerial Meeting, scheduled to take place in Doha on October 23.

The meeting brought together high-level representatives from GECF member countries — Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela — as well as observer countries Iraq, Mauritania, Mozambique, and Senegal.

In his remarks, Mohamed Hamel, Secretary-General, GECF, expressed his profound appreciation to the host country, Qatar, for its warm hospitality and steadfast support in ensuring the successful organisation of the forthcoming Ministerial Meeting, and its continued support to the GECF Headquarters in Doha.

The Extraordinary Meeting deliberated on a comprehensive agenda encompassing key organisational, administrative, and strategic matters of the forum.

Discussions included the draft programme and ministerial statement of the 27th GECF Ministerial Meeting, alongside other essential items aimed at advancing the forum’s collective objectives and further strengthening co-operation among its member and observer countries.
