Environmental awareness workshop held for school students
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Marine Protection Department has organized an awareness workshop titled “Protecting the Marine Environment: Our Shared Responsibility”.
The workshop targeted students from Al Shorouq Model School for Boys as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and instill the principles of sustainability among younger generations.A total of 45 students participated in the workshop, where specialists from the Marine Protection Department delivered an engaging presentation introducing the components of Qatar’s marine environment, the key living organisms that inhabit it, and the challenges and threats it faces due to human activities.
The workshop also included interactive activities and educational competitions designed to reinforce environmental concepts in a practical and enjoyable way, helping raise students’ awareness of the importance of protecting the marine environment and conserving its natural resources.
In the meantime, the ministry stressed that this workshop is part of a series of educational programmes implemented in schools under its strategic plan to promote environmental awareness among youth and foster a sense of responsibility toward the environment, contributing to the protection of biodiversity and the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.
