Two Palestinians were martyred and others injured on Sunday as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted the eastern area of Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted Palestinians in Jabalia, resulting in the immediate martyrdom of two individuals and the injury of others, who were transported to the hospital by medical teams.

In the same context, the Israeli occupation army targeted the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip with several airstrikes, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire on the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis in the southern part of the Strip.

The occupation forces continue to violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza by launching airstrikes and firing at Palestinian civilians inspecting their homes and properties in the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several individuals. Meanwhile, the occupation continues to prevent the operation of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, which was supposed to reopen following the agreement.

In this context, the Gaza Center for Human Rights stated that it had documented 129 incidents of shelling and shooting carried out by the occupation forces, which resulted in the martyrdom of 34 Palestinians and the injury of 122 others since the ceasefire agreement in Gaza took effect.

The ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli entity came into effect last week, following the withdrawal of the occupation army from populated areas in the Strip and the beginning of the return of displaced persons to the northern part of the Gaza Strip. This is part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza.
