The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) has recently organised the ‘Grand Festival Bazaar 2025’.

Indian embassy counsellor (head of chancery and consular) Dr Vaibhav A Tandale and Dr Manisha Tandale inaugurated the event, which featured more than 60 stalls showcasing handicrafts, leather products, imitation jewellery, Indian traditional wear, and authentic Indian food, as well as live henna (mehndi) stations.

Nandini Abbagouni, ICC head of Cultural Activities, delivered the welcome remarks, while Abraham K Joseph, ICC general secretary, delivered an opening speech. Dr Vaibhav Tandale addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of cultural engagement within the Indian community in Qatar.

A P Manikantan, president of ICC, and P N Baburajan, chairman of the ICC Advisory Council, also addressed the gathering. During the event, the ICC handed over a certificate to the newly-affiliated Associate Organisation, Amrit Uttar Pradesh Navrang Sanskritik Mandal Qatar.

A dedicated counter for Government Social Welfare Schemes was also inaugurated by Dr Vaibhav Tandale, NORKA Roots director C V Rappai, in the presence of ICC secretary Afsal Abdul Majeed and Abdul Raoof.

The counter provides information and assistance on various welfare schemes, including Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, NORKA Care Insurance, NORKA ID, ICBF Life Insurance, and other welfare initiatives of the Government of India and State Governments.

Sandeep Sriramareddy, head of IT & Social Media, delivered the vote of thanks in the presence of the ICC Managing Committee, presidents of other associated organisations, and senior community leaders, including IBPC president Thaha Mohammed, ICC vice president Shantanu Deshpande, ICBF vice president Rasheed Ahamed, and ICBF general secretary Deepak Shetty.
