The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), represented by the Training and Development Centre, in co-operation with the Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) and Harvard University, has launched the second edition of the "Qiyadat" government school leadership development programme.
The programme is launched with the participation of 40 educational leaders, including school principals, academic deputies, and administrators from government schools across various educational levels.
The programme, which will continue until May 2026 in both Qatar and the US, aims to build national capacities in the field of school leadership, enhancing its role in improving student learning and creating a stimulating educational environment.
It also aims to provide school principals with international educational expertise that supports development and contributes to institutional excellence.
This will enable them to perform their leadership duties with high efficiency by transferring international expertise and applying it in their schools.
The programme consists of seven training modules, five of which are delivered in Qatar, while two modules are delivered at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the US, interspersed with remote training sessions.
The programme includes an in-depth study of school leadership, the role of the school and its impact on society, human resources for students and staff, classrooms, curriculum-based interventions, and student innovation, in addition to field visits to educational institutions to learn about best practices and educational experiences in Boston.
In his opening remarks, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi emphasised that the "Qiyadat" programme was designed to enhance leadership competencies, manage change, and establish a school culture based on innovation and continuous learning.

HE Dr al-Nuaimi urged educational leaders to benefit from the programme and its practical experiences and knowledge exchange in an international context, contributing to the transfer and application of knowledge to enhance educational outcomes and prepare generations to face the challenges of the future.
