Ooredoo has announced a three-year partnership with Doha Bank as the gold sponsor for the 14th edition of the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo, set to take place on January 16, 2026. The 13th edition has been awarded a World Athletics Gold Label status for the second consecutive year, placing it among the top 25 marathons worldwide.
The partnership was officiated yesterday at the Ooredoo headquarters, attended by senior representatives from both organisations. Sheikh Ali bin Jabor bin Mohammad al-Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Through sustained commitment, we aim to create lasting value for our community, inspire the next generation of athletes, and reinforce our dedication to Qatar’s sporting legacy and the well-being of its people.”
Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal al-Thani, Group CEO of Doha Bank, said: “Our sponsorship of this edition of the Doha Marathon, organised by Ooredoo, marks the continuation of a partnership that began with the previous edition and will extend over the next three consecutive years. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen Doha Bank’s contributions in the area of social responsibility.”
With an expected 20,000 participants this year, the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo has grown into the largest sporting and community event in Qatar, drawing participants from both local and international communities.
