The Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (QOSM) is hosting a new exhibition, "E-sports – A Game Changer".

The exhibition highlights the rise of competitive gaming as a growing global phenomenon, and examines its impact on society, education, entertainment, and work.

The QOSM will introduce the exhibition to journalists during a tour on Thursday (September 25) from 11am to 12 noon, ahead of its opening in Doha.

It was first presented in conjunction with the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris as part of Qatar Museums (QM)'s Summer Programme, which celebrates the legacy of the Qatar-France 2020 Year of Culture.

The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rapid developments in the field of e-sports and their cultural and social impact.

Over the past two decades, e-sports has transformed from a niche hobby into a multi-billion-dollar industry, boasting international tournaments, professional clubs, and millions of followers worldwide.

With their entry into the Olympic and sports landscape, these games have become a new interactive space that combines technology, entertainment, and innovation, redefining the concept of traditional competition.

The press tour will be attended by QOSM director Abdulla Yousef al-Mulla and his deputy for museum affairs Dr Christian Wacker, along with co-curators Benjamin Pusztala and Jannik Radisch.

With this step, the QOSM strengthens its presence as a leading cultural center that explores modern phenomena and keeps pace with global transformations in sports and technology.
