The Qatar Press Center (QPC) organised a session titled 'The Israeli Aggression on Qatar: Implications and Consequences', which addressed the repercussions of the cowardly Israeli attack on Qatar and anticipated its consequences at the regional and international levels.

The session featured Dr Mustafa Osman, academic and former Sudanese minister of foreign affairs; lawyer Abdullah al-Adhba; and media adviser and political analyst Hossam Shaker. It was moderated by Mulham Brijawi, a journalist with Al-Arabi TV.

The event was attended by a number of politicians, journalists, and academics interested in international affairs, along with a group of media professionals participating in covering the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha.

Dr Osman emphasised that the treacherous Israeli aggression aimed to undermine Qatar's intensive mediation efforts to halt the aggression on Gaza. This means that the Israeli attack was a political message, not just a military escalation, which had serious repercussions across the entire international arena.

He explained that Israel's behaviour reflects its adoption of the concept of state terrorism. This behaviour is condemned by the international community, including the Gulf Co-operation Council.

Dr Osman pointed out that the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha laid the foundation for a unified Arab and Islamic position that strengthens political capacity. Furthermore, its outcomes, which expressed solidarity with Qatar and supported all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty and security, opened the way for Qatar to act with all its weight on the international stage, whether in the UN General Assembly or through bilateral relations, to protect its security and sovereignty and hold Israel accountable for its crimes and violations.

He explained that Qatar's success in mobilising broad international support has strengthened the return of the Palestinian cause to the forefront of global attention. It has also increased the isolation of Israel, which is internationally ostracised, even by its closest allies, due to its aggressive behaviour and ongoing genocidal crimes against the people of Gaza.

Abdullah al-Athba explained that the Israeli aggression aims to weaken Qatar's powerful and internationally influential mediation role in defusing crises and conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic means, as well as its role in joint mediation with Egypt and the United States to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and contribute to the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip.

He emphasised that Qatar, the capital of peace and trusted mediation, has strengthened its political and diplomatic strength following the Israeli aggression and renewed its steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Hossam Shaker pointed out that this dangerous escalation requires unifying ranks and positions to deter Israel. This is achieved by transforming diplomatic and political momentum and global solidarity with Qatar into activating international mechanisms and regional alliances to deter the aggression and pursue it legally and internationally, as well as in all international forums, to hold it accountable for its crimes.

Saad al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the QPC, affirmed that the global solidarity condemning the aggression reflects the international standing of Qatar and the global outrage over the hostile and irresponsible Israeli escalation.
