The total number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli captivity has reached more than 11,100 as of early September 2025. This toll does not include those held by the Israeli occupation army, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association reported in a joint statement on Wednesday.

The statement explained that among those captives are 49 women, including 2 from Gaza, as well as more than 400 children. The number of administrative detainees has reached 3,577, the highest proportion compared to the total number of detainees and sentenced prisoners, classified as unlawful combatants.

The number of detainees classified as unlawful combatants has reached 2,662. This figure does not include all Gaza detainees who are held as captives in Israeli camps and classified as unlawful combatants, nor Arab detainees from Lebanon and Syria, the statement highlighted.

The statement further noted that this figure is the highest since the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000, according to the documentary data available to these institutions.

The overall number of prisoners and detainees in Israeli captivity prior to the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, stood at more than 5,250, including 40 women and 170 children.
