Medical sources in Gaza reported today that 11 Palestinians, including two children, have died due to starvation and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, according to records from hospitals across the Strip.

The total number of deaths caused by starvation and malnutrition has now risen to 300, including 117 children.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen under a crippling blockade and severe shortages of food and medical supplies. Extreme famine overlaps with what has been described as a genocidal war launched by Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, occupation authorities have kept all border crossings with Gaza closed, blocking the entry of most food and medical aid, which has led to the widespread outbreak of famine in the Strip.

The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had earlier warned that malnutrition among children under five had doubled between March and June due to the ongoing blockade.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels. It stated that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid delivery have cost many lives, with nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City now suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
