Malabar Gold & Diamonds (MGD), the fifth largest jewellery retailer globally with over 400 showrooms across 13 countries, organised a blood donation drive at its showroom in Barwa Village in association with Hamad Medical corporation. The initiative was conducted by the brand’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) wing to raise awareness among Qatar residents about the importance of blood donation and to encourage maximum people to join.

A total of 59 donors, including 15 MGD staff members, participated in the drive. “At Malabar Gold & Diamonds, we believe true success is measured by the positive impact we create beyond business," said regional head Santhosh T V.

"Guided by our strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, we continue to drive initiatives that uplift communities in every region we serve. Our collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation reflects this vision — together, we aim to inspire individuals to take meaningful steps that can save and transform lives,” he added.

MGD's ESG organises blood donation drive periodically in all their regions of operation with support of authorised blood banks as a part of its ongoing ESG activities. Since its inception in 1993, Malabar Group has been setting aside 5% of net profits for such initiatives in each country of operations. The key focus is in the areas of health, hunger free world, housing, education, women empowerment and environment, a statement added.
