At least 13 Palestinians were martyred and several others were injured on Friday as Israeli occupation forces continued heavy bombardment of Gaza City.

According to the Palestinian news agency (WAFA), five members of the same family were martyred and others were injured when an Israeli airstrike struck a displacement tent on Jalaa Street in central Gaza City.

At the same time, Israeli shelling hit a school-turned-shelter in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing five civilians and injuring several others.

Elsewhere, Israeli artillery targeted the Abu Iskandar neighborhood in northern Gaza City, as well as the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods in the south, resulting in additional casualties.

Since August 11, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out a massive assault on the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, involving the demolition of homes with booby-trapped robots, heavy artillery shelling, indiscriminate gunfire, and mass displacement. Palestinian officials say the offensive is part of an Israeli plan to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip, beginning with Gaza City.
