Qatar University (QU) has welcomed more than 40 new faculty members from around the globe through its annual orientation event, “Ya Hala”, hosted by the Excellence in Teaching and Learning Centre.
In his opening remarks, QU vice-president for Academic Affairs Prof Ibrahim al-Kaabi welcomed the new faculty, wishing them success in their new roles.
The event included presentations by QU vice-presidents Dr Mohammad Essam Diab (Student Affairs), Prof Asmaa Ali al-Thani (Medical and Health Sciences) and Prof Aiman Mahmoud Erbid (Research and Graduate Studies).
They outlined the university’s strategies and vision in the fields of education, research, and innovation, in addition to introducing the university’s academic, cultural, and professional values.
Prof Tamer Khattab, the director of the QU’s Excellence in Teaching and Learning Centre, said: “The ‘Ya Hala’ orientation marks an important starting point for new faculty members at the QU, offering them the opportunity to meet colleagues from various colleges and disciplines and supporting their integration into a rich and diverse academic environment that strengthens their active engagement in the University’s educational and research journey.”
