A joint inspection campaign by Doha and Al Rayyan municipalities to ensure the highest food safety standards of food establishments at The Pearl Island showed zero violations.
A statement from the Ministry of Municipality explained that the campaign was to ensure The Pearl Island's position as a safe and distinguished tourist destination and the adherence of food establishments to the highest standards of food safety and services provided to visitors and residents.
This step, according to the statement, comes within the framework of achieving the ministry’s strategic vision to enhance quality of life and improve public services especially in tourist areas.
The campaign was carried out by unified inspection teams that conducted surprise field visits to a number of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores to ensure compliance with health requirements and food safety regulations.
The results of the campaign reflected the high commitment of food establishments and confirm that the safety and health of consumers is a top priority for the country's regulatory authorities.
The municipalities, in the statement, affirmed their commitment to intensifying campaigns to ensure a safe food environment that complies with international standards while enhancing the confidence of visitors and the local community in the quality and safety of food provided within the country.
