Katara Cultural Village is launching a new art exhibition Tuesday, titled "Mada... From letter to colour", highlighted as “when letters meet a symphony of colours, art comes alive”, in Building 18.
The exhibition brings together the creativity of students from the Fine Arts Programme at Qatar University (QU)’s College of Arts and Sciences, providing a platform to showcase their talents and explore their abilities in artistic expression and colour innovation.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive view of the development of artistic work, from traditional calligraphy and lettering to the handling of colours and experimentation with visual compositions, making each painting tell a unique story and reflect the artist's identity and skills.
The exhibition aims to encourage the public to connect with art and understand its cultural and aesthetic depth, while also providing a space for direct interaction between the artists and visitors.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to view a diverse collection of paintings, ranging from experimental to traditional, as the students blend Arabic calligraphy with modern visual arts, in an experience that enriches visual culture and highlights innovation in artistic expression.
This is an important step toward strengthening the local art scene, highlighting the role of educational institutions in supporting art and creators, and contributing to opening new horizons for students to develop their skills and benefit from practical experience in the field of contemporary art.
The exhibition comes within the framework of Katara's ongoing efforts to support young artists, enable them to present their works to a wide audience, and enhance the role of women in the local art scene.
This reflects the institution's interest in developing students' creative skills and providing them with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of contemporary art.
