The Public Cleaning Department at the Ministry of Municipality has recycled large quantities of plastic materials, empty barrels, and containers through outsourcing the process to a private-sector company specialised in recycling.
Since the company began operations on June 1, around 506 tonnes of such materials have been recycled, and the work is ongoing.
The recycled materials will be utilised in other industries, reflecting Qatar’s third-phase strategy, which aims to engage the private sector in national development projects. This initiative also supports the policy of safe waste disposal and contributes to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
