The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced on Wednesday the implementation of two temporary traffic closures on parts of Al Corniche Street to complete maintenance work and apply the final asphalt layer, as part of efforts to improve the road network and enhance traffic safety.

In a statement, Ashghal said that the first temporary closure will involve two lanes on Al Corniche Street in the direction from Sheraton Interchange to Al Dafna Interchange, starting at 2am on Friday, Aug. 8, until 5am on Sunday, Aug. 10, to complete road maintenance works.

It added that the second closure will also involve two lanes on a section of Al Corniche Street in the direction from Amiri Diwan intersection to the Museum of Islamic Art Interchange, starting at 12am on Saturday, Aug. 9, until 5am on Sunday, Aug. 10, to conduct the final asphalt layer works.

Ashghal urged all road users during this period to follow the temporary traffic diversions and use the available lanes or nearby alternative roads to reach their destinations.
