Last week, the Al Jazeera Media Institute concluded a sports presentation course, taught by journalist Ali al-Maslamani, with ten trainees of varying ages and experience.

Over the course of five days, participants underwent intensive training covering the basics of sports presentation. The trainer focused on highlighting the differences between sports broadcasters and presenters of other types of programs, analyzing the performance of professional broadcasters. As well as providing practical training on preparing sports bulletins, using correct Arabic, and paying attention to body language and the manners of standing and sitting in front of the camera.

Al-Maslamani emphasized that the practical aspect was strongly present, as participants practiced the skills of reading sports bulletins, conducting interviews with guests and correspondents, and simulating dealing with breaking news and communicating with the control room.

Regarding the impact of the trainees' varying levels and experiences, the trainer explained that the diversity of ages and backgrounds gave the course a dynamic feel. The class included trainees of varying ages, including a seventeen-year-old boy and a female trainee with practical experience at Al Jazeera.
