Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, participated in the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4), organised by the UN in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from July 27-29.
The Qatari delegation was headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Food Security Affairs, Eng. Fahad Mohammed al-Qahtani, who took part in various panel discussions and meetings focused on advancing member states' efforts towards effective and sustainable transformation of food systems.
As part of its participation, Qatar presented a voluntary national report highlighting key achievements in recent years in developing a more sustainable and climate-resilient national food system capable of adapting to supply chain disruptions.
The report also outlined the main features of national plans aimed at continuing food system transformation in line with the objectives of the National Food Security Strategy 2030.
