At least five people, including a New York City police officer, were killed in a shooting incident in Manhattan, according to US media reports.
A security official told CNN that four victims, including the officer, were fatally shot before the suspected gunman died by suicide. The New York Post reported that the total number of fatalities reached five.
New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch earlier confirmed that the "lone gunman" responsible for the shooting in Midtown Manhattan had been "neutralized" by responding officers.
