Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, has appointed Dr Dina Schnurman as its new chief nursing officer (CNO).

A distinguished professional at Sidra Medicine, Dr Schnurman has served as acting CNO since October 2024.

Her official appointment marks a key step in advancing nursing leadership and care standards at the healthcare organisation.

“Dr Dina Schnurman brings more than 25 years of international nursing leadership to this role,” Sidra Medicine chief executive Dr Iyabo Tinubu-Karch said. “Her deep commitment to patient safety, professional development, and evidence-based care aligns with our mission to deliver outstanding services for women and children in Qatar and beyond.”

“Sidra Medicine has set a high bar for nursing and allied health excellence in the region,” Dr Schnurman said.

“I look forward to building on this foundation, supporting our nurses and allied health professionals, enhancing patient outcomes, and shaping the future of compassionate care,” she said. “Nurses are the backbone of every healthcare system, and I am committed to bringing recognition, support, and value to their vital role.”

In her role as CNO, Dr Schnurman will lead efforts to enhance nursing and allied health practice and professional development across the organisation.

She will play a key role in advancing interdisciplinary collaboration, embedding a culture of safety, and supporting Sidra Medicine’s long-term goals in clinical excellence, education, and research.

Prior to her appointment as the CNO, Dr Schnurman was the executive director of quality and safety, where she was responsible for improving clinical outcomes, patient safety and patient experience.

She has a focused background in paediatric oncology, bone marrow transplant, and nursing education and has worked collaboratively with agencies across Qatar and internationally.
