The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced the relaunch of the top-tier Qatari football competition under a new name and visual identity. Starting from the 2025-2026 season, the league will be known as the Doha Bank Stars League, with the upcoming season set to kick off on August 14.
This strategic rebranding reinforces the league's growing stature as one of the most competitive and high-profile sporting events in the region. The new name reflects a sponsorship agreement with Doha Bank and will remain in place for the next three seasons. The league had previously been titled the Ooredoo Stars League.
In its statement, the QSL also unveiled the league's new visual identity, inspired by the shape of the championship shield. The design embodies the strength, distinction, and ambition of Qatari football as it enters a new era.
The 2025-2026 season will commence with matches held on air-conditioned stadiums over the first six weeks, ensuring optimal playing conditions during the summer. The first round will unfold over three days: on August 14 Al Rayyan will take on Al Sailiya at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, while Al Shamal face Al Ahli at Khalifa International Stadium.
On August 15: Al Arabi meet Al Wakrah at Al Thumama Stadium, before Al Gharafa clash with Umm Salal at Al Bayt Stadium. On August 16 defending champions Al Sadd open their campaign with a match against Qatar SC at their home turf Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, while runners-up Al Duhail host Al Shahania at the Khalifa International Stadium.
Al Sadd defend the title they won last season with 52 points — edging out Al Duhail by just two points. Al Gharafa finished third with 41 points.
